100% for 100% of The 57%Discussion
A lot is happening these days at Southview — right before our eyes. God is transforming our physical structure and image, as our worship area and education area both undergo dramatic changes. But what is even more exciting is the transformation that He is working internally within the body at Southview.
Clearly, God is leading us in a revival unlike anything that we have previously experienced; and it is all driven by our heartfelt desire to take the gospel beyond our walls, and beyond our borders, in order to reach the unchurched people surrounding our local church, which equates to 57% of the people in our neighborhood. From the work that the Beyond Our Walls ministry is doing through FACETS, to the Cambodian outreach, to our partnership with Compassion International as we reach into Africa, to the new AWANA program, and through the many live events hosted at Southview, we are seeing lives truly changed and the work of the Kingdom coming alive.
We have only just begun, but one thing is for sure: we at Southview are 100% invested in our local community outreach program, Project 57 (a.k.a., "P57"). From the day that we were called to start P57, the entire congregation has played a part in the outpouring of help, support, and prayers; and no less so in the past few weeks with all of the construction, and the start of new ministries like AWANA. Seeing visitors come and then stay, witnessing people accepting Christ and being baptized on a regular basis, etc. These happenings are all reinforcing our commitment to follow God’s leading in this important project.
King Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 5:20, "He (a righteous man) seldom reflects on the days of his life because God keeps him occupied with gladness of heart". As we push ahead, taking the Gospel out to our neighborhoods and to the outermost parts of the world, we have this confidence that we will be doing it with "gladness of heart". If you don’t think so, just look around you the next time that you drop by Southview.
