Fruits

Fruit

"Are we sowing the right seeds?
Are we pleasing God?
We’d better answer these questions sooner versus later."

Mary, Mary quite contrary, how does your garden grow?
We all remember this nursery rhyme from long, long ago.
But Christian, how about that garden being planted by you and me?
We are scattering seeds every moment. What kind of harvest will there be?

Now the garden I speak of is spiritual in scope
And we should be planting seeds of love, faith, and hope.
Because my beloved friend, all of us must surely know
It is a fact, we truly reap what we sow.

Now the fruit of that which we plant is very, very evident
So guard against sowing seeds of anger, strife, envy, or discontent.
Because it is a shame, a waste of spiritual sod
And people who sow those seeds can’t inherit the Kindgom of God.

Strive to sow the seeds of love, joy, kindness, and peace
The harvest is so bountiful and blessings will never cease.

Now Christian friend, as you plow and plant and cultivate
Here is something for you to contemplate...
When you take before the Lord the fruits of all you’ve sown
Will He be pleased with the harvest you lay upon His throne?

Now I’m not here to criticize or condemn
But remember, "By their fruits you will know them."
